Advanced Academic Programs Scholarship Assistance Program

The Scholarship Assistance Program provides tuition assistance to selected students on a competitive basis within the Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) of the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of need and merit as determined by each academic program.

Alumni donations and tuition revenue fund the scholarship assistance, which are awarded in the form of tuition grants. Awards are announced by July 30, 2010 and must be used toward classes taken in Fall 2010, Spring 2011, or Summer 2011. Most recent past awards ranged from $500 to $4,000 for the academic year.

Who Can Apply

Only active students in good standing may apply. Students must have completed at least one class in their program of study prior to the application deadline in Spring semester, 2010.

Since financial aid cannot verify financial need for international students, they are not eligible for this scholarship assistance program.

Students can apply for this scholarship every year it is available, but they must fill out a new form each year and compete with the current pool for the award.

How to Apply

Specific application materials and deadline dates will be available after January 1, 2010 at http://advanced.jhu.edu/admissions/financial-aid/.  All students interested in applying for the scholarship assistance grant must complete the 2010-2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  This form is not available from the federal government until January 1, 2010 (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/).
